Ziyun (Bill) Wang 王子云 (how to pronounce?) Ziyun is pronounced as Tzu Yün. Some people find it hard to read my Chinese name correctly, so you could also call me Bill :)

About me

I am a second-year M.S. student at the Department of Computer Science at New York University. Currently I am also working at the NYU Human and Machine Learning Lab, under the supervision of Prof. Brenden Lake.

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Technology at Tsinghua University, China, where I worked with Prof. Zhiyuan Liu on topics about text generation and information extraction at the natural language processing lab.

I am broadly interested in advancing language understanding and generation ability of machines. Since language usage is one of the hallmarks of human intelligence, I believe that studying natural language will be helpful to many intelligent tasks, and how humans solve these challenges can inspire us to design better machine learning algorithms. Currently I am interested in taking advantage of discoveries and insights from cognitive science, to build more powerful computational models for solving problems in the natural language processing field. I also have interests in how humans store and utilize world knowledge, and how to build machines that have similar capabilities.
